The famous former New England Patriot Aaron Hernadez that just got charged with murder and was let go by his team now has a sought after jersey. Not sure why anyone would want one, unless it’s a joke but they’re going like hot cakes and you gotta pay big bucks.
The Jerseys were removed by the New England Shop right after the murder charges and after the team let him go. But a surprise move, the New England Gillitte Stadium Pro Shop is allowing fans to bring in their Jerseys and exchange them for other Jerseys in the shop. That hasn’t been done by any other team and is an interesting move. They’re allowed to bring the Jersey’s in on July 6th and 7th to do the exchange.
Ben Kent, 32, of Virginia Beach, listed his red #81 Hernandez jersey on eBay on Wednesday evening for $50. Bidding for the jersey had reached $227.50 mid-day on Monday, only hours before the auction closes. The jersey has been viewed over 2,300 times.
eBay was contacted and asked if selling his Jersey violates their terms of service and they said no it doesn’t. If he were charged with murder they would re-evaluate the decision.
As of Monday morning, there are about 1,593 items listed on eBay related to Aaron Hernandez.
That’s compared to about 5,714 items for Griffin and 14,465 items for Manning, according to ABC News.
Guess a lot of people want it as a joke or just want it because it’s hot right now, I can tell you there’s no way I would put that crap on.
